Congratulations to Airolink on your title achievement as one of the Top 10 construction contractors’ in the MENA. What is the secret to your success during these daunting times impacted by the Covid pandemic globally?

 

Efficient planning with attention to detail, hard work and perseverance have all been vital to our growth right from our inception. During Covid, while maintaining this focus on the Projects, we adapted our strategies to fit in with the global dynamics and thus overcome the challenges. Riding on the strength of our core values, our excellent resources and management team, we have thankfully excelled and come on top!

What is Airolink’s strategy for the next 3 years?

Every challenge is an opportunity and Covid-19 is no different. Along with our strategic partners, we are diversifying into other key sectors such as oil & gas, and also into other high-potential markets such as Saudi Arabia and the UK. We are capitalising on this opportunity to establish our presence even stronger as a premier leading Contractor of Choice in MENA by realising unique construction projects, generating value propositions and attracting investments.

Having completed more than 10 million square feet of design & build landmark projects, we have now placed focus on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBOT) / public private partnership (PPP) projects. In addition to the current project portfolio in excess of Dh8 billion, Airolink is in advanced discussions to commit over Dh2.3 billion in long-term contracts including DBOT/PPP, by actively engaging finance interests from the EU, US and the Far East.

In partnership with private and public sector entities in India and the UAE, Airolink is looking to enhance presence further in India with key investments in renewable energy, healthcare and petrochemical sectors. India is truly an incredible market and we are looking forward to spreading our wings even wider in India.

Anil Pahwa is working with Airolink as Chief Operating Officer. He holds Bachelor's degree as well as a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with around 30 years of experience in the construction industry having held various key positions. He has accumulated diversified experience in various areas of construction management and strategic planning.

He is the member of “The Institute of Engineers” with certificate of “Chartered Engineering”. He was also assigned as “Management Representative” for ISO 9001-2000 certification. He plays a key role in the management and strong character development of the teams, to enable them to achieve challenging goals.

Dr. Anil K Gopinathan Pillai

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Anil Pillai is the Founder & Chairman of Ireland originated construction group “Airolink”. Dr. Anil is a Postgraduate in Business Management (Finance and Marketing). Also, he holds an Honorary Doctorate in Construction from University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Like many of his illustrious peers, he made a very humble beginning over a decade back by started his construction business in Ireland. Under his leadership, many new initiatives have begun, and he has been instrumental in the transformation of Airolink BC ltd., Ireland to Airolink Group which has presence in Ireland, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and India.

Dr. Anil is a firm believer in the paramount importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and in extending a helping hand to the needy. In addition to his business interests, Dr. Anil’s philanthropic contributions extend to several Asian & African countries. Notable contributions include support and empowerment of the elderly, women and children by providing aid for their essential needs such as housing, medicine, education, vocational training and support for elderly care homes, to name a few. Towards honouring his contributions to charity and his commitments to the global social cause, on 13/06/2019, the United Nations Human Rights Defence Committee has conferred Dr. Anil the rank of CIPDH Expert – SC1 at Paris, France.
